February 20, 2010 Inguz

Inguz

Inguz is the suffix –ing.

Anglo-Saxon Rune Poem (from ragweedforge.com)

Ing was first seen by men among the East-Danes,
till, followed by his chariot,he departed eastwards over the waves. So the Heardingas named the hero.

Inguz or Ing is another name for Freyr, a Vanic god associated with fertility, who was the twin of Freya. The name Freyr translates as Lord.

The meanings of Inguz are linked with Freyr. Inguz is a rune of fertility, whereas Berkana represents the growth of living things, Inguz is the forces that catalyze that growing power. So it is in a reading, a catalyst, that which sets forces in motion. Without the catalyst, the separate forces would just exist, never coming together and reacting to create something new. What are the forces that have been united? What is the fruit of this reaction? Open up Inguz and have the information revealed to you, or you can just ride the reaction and see what changes come forth.
